This virtual event will highlight why it’s important to put sustainable cooling in Covid-19 economic recovery efforts and how these can support climate ambition and Agenda 2030. The event will be an opportunity to share with leaders from government, industry and finance perspectives on sustainable cooling, and highlight what is needed to accelerate action at the scale and speed required to meet the 1.5-degree target.
Panellists including Makhtar Diop, Vice President, Infrastructure, Word Bank Group; Bijal Patel, Mayor, City of Ahmedabad, India and Tomas Anker Christensen, Climate Ambassador for Denmark, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark will highlight why the path to green recovery and accelerated climate action must sensibly include sustainable cooling, and how it can help us deliver other goals in areas as varied as job creation, nature protection, energy, cities, food, and health. The exchange of insights, experience, and best practices will hopefully inspire more governments to include sustainable cooling in their climate commitments and economic stimulus packages.
This event is part of a webinar series about the Energy Transition track initiatives from the Climate Action Summit. For more information, please contact: Sophie.Loran@un.org
