Do you own a home or building that’s older than 1919? With this free livestream series, experts Lila Angelaka and Roger Curtis will take you through different parts of traditional buildings and how they were made to help you understand more about your older building. This session will be looking at what you can do to make a traditional building more energy efficient. So if you want to know how to keep the heat in without compromising the building's historic character, tune in to this session! The event will be looking at one of our own buildings, Holyrood Park Lodge in Edinburgh. This is a small listed building near Holyrood Park, used as a visitor centre and shop. The works included insulating the roof, walls and floor. Windows and doors were also draught proofed and insulation added. We also considered ventilation. If you want to find out more, see how effective this is, and understand how this could help you with your own building or home, join us. You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience to watch the broadcast – we’ll cover the basics.
The livestream event will be available for free on our Facebook and YouTube channels starting at 12 noon. Make sure you’re logged in to join the chat.
Can’t make it? You’ll be able to watch the full recording after on Facebook and YouTube.
