C40 Cities presents The Urban Energy Transition: Powering green and just cities for the 21st century.

Join the event on September 22nd from 11:00-12:30 EDT for a series of exciting keynote addresses and conversations featuring mayors from around the world, climate and energy specialists, global finance experts, business leaders and youth climate activists as we showcase the coalition of stakeholders working together to accelerate the transition to clean energy in C40 cities and beyond.

The first panel, ‘Harnessing the power of renewable energy to transform our cities’, will address the need for collaboration between all stakeholders in the energy sector to build innovative urban energy systems that can accelerate the transition to net zero carbon energy systems globally.

The second panel, ‘How we build people-powered cities’, will discuss how renewable energy can help cities build more inclusive, resilient and healthier communities by bringing affordable and reliable energy to all, reducing air pollution and enabling greater citizen participation. 

The third and final panel, ‘Investing in a fair and just energy transition’, will explore how local renewable energy projects can create job opportunities and catalyse local economic development while helping renewable markets to grow.
