The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab), an investor network that incubates and launches promising investment solutions to address climate change in developing countries, recently opened its call for ideas for the 2022 cycle.
The Lab is looking for innovative finance solutions that can unlock investment to tackle some of the most difficult climate and sustainable development challenges and investment opportunities for a net zero economy. This year, the Lab has a special call for ideas that target adaptation, zero carbon buildings, and sustainable food systems, as well as that target Brazil, India, and Southern Africa.
Selected ideas will receive guidance and support from high-level leaders from both the public and private sectors, who contribute expertise, political capital, and financial capital to the instruments. Selected ideas will also benefit from robust analysis, stress-testing, and development by Climate Policy Initiative’s team of experts. To date, the Lab has helped launch 55 instruments which have mobilized US$ 2.5 billion in sustainable investment.
The deadline is Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021 at 17:00 PST. The new class will be announced in March 2022.
