BAC Learning Webinar: Context-specific High-Performance Building – future-proofing adaptive comfort design for cooling climates
| 17:00-18:00 CEST

Andy Simmonds and Huda Elsherif from the Association for Environment Conscious Buildings (AECB) will present the May Buildings Action Coalition (BAC) Learning Webinar ‘Context-specific High-Performance Building – future-proofing adaptive comfort design for cooling climate", exploring, learning from, and developing active synergies between existing localised ‘sustainable building’ initiatives in countries such as Ghana, Tanzania, Pakistan, Gilgit Baltistan and South Africa, and UK-based networks AECB members.

The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) is the UK’s longest-established independent network with the common aim of promoting sustainable building. Founded as a not-for-profit in 1989, it encourages its membership to create energy-efficient and high-performance buildings, specify eco-friendly materials, and innovate design and construction practice – aiming to become more ecologically conscious, more energy and carbon-literature -  ‘achieving more with less’.

The AECB supports its network of industry experts and pioneers - architects, builders, designers, engineers, contractors, self-builders, manufacturers, housing associations, local authorities, academics, DIY and self-build enthusiasts who are committed to creating greener, more sustainable built environments with invaluable resources, including thought leadership, energy and water standards, software, guidance, cutting-edge training, online and face to face events, and an extensive local group network.

The AECB continues to play a pivotal role in inspiring the adoption of more sustainable practices for mitigating and adapting to, the linked crises of ecological overshoot, climate disruption and biodiversity collapse. They strive to promote beauty and excellence in design and construction, and to effect deep and lasting change within the design and construction industry.
