Published in September, the Global Stocktake (GST) report has set the scene that the world is not on track to meet the Paris Agreement. Beyond the headlines the report highlights; the critical role of buildings, the need for collaboration, and an urgent call to action for Non-party stakeholders.
As the global community begins to reflect on these findings, there is an urgent need to shift the dialogue from “discussions about direction” to “discussions about action” and this event aims to shift the narrative on the sector from “a big part of the problem” to “a big part of the solution”.
The event will offer the audience the chance to reflect on the role of Buildings and the Built Environment. In particular framed around responding to the GST and the opportunity for an integrated and holistic approach to action in the built environment, especially as countries prepare to update their NDCs in 2025.
The discussion will present the speakers with direct extracts from the GST report and invite them to showcase how the sector is responding with action and how the call-to-action will shape their role in the future.
