Description:
This session will present latest data and analysis about the buildings sector’s alignment with the Paris Agreement from the special edition of the Global Status Report for Buildings and Construction. The presentation will include an update on the global Buildings Climate Tracker and will share latest analysis of key indicators which are shedding a light on the mitigation efforts implemented by government and the private sector.
The analysis was produced by teams of UCL and BPIE under the leadership of Prof. Ian Hamilton and Oliver Rapf.

Oliver Rapf is Executive Director of BPIE, a Brussels based think-tank with a focus on energy and the built environment. Since 2011, he established its reputation as a go-to center of expertise and innovation in buildings climate and energy policy. Before joining BPIE, Oliver worked for the global conservation organization WWF in various roles. Since 2018, he serves as Steering Committee Member of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, hosted by UNEP. His experience in the UNFCCC negotiation process goes back to pre-Kyoto.
