Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Company (TNIFMC) is an independent, professionally managed asset management company with shareholding from Government and non-governmental institutions. TNIFMC is registered with and regulated by the Securities & Exchanges Board of India (SEBI) and owned by Government of Tamil Nadu and other public & private financial institutions. Tamil Nadu Shelter Fund Tamil Nadu Shelter Fund (TNSF), managed by TNIFMC, is a leading Indian Affordable Housing fund, investing in India‚Äôs second largest provincial economy. TNSF invests in asset backed instruments of affordable and sustainable housing projects in Government, Public-Private partnership and Private sector in rental as well as ownership Housing across categories such as: Affordable Housing with focus on Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG),  Short Term Rental Housing for vulnerable sections like Working Women , Long Term Rental Housing ‚Äì Industrial Housing , Senior and Assisted Living and Housing for Migrant Construction Workers. All TNSF aims to have all its projects, IFC-EDGE or GRIHA certified and thus contribute to environmental sustainability.

ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS

Through the Tamil Nadu Affordable Urban Housing and Habitat Policy (TNAUHHP) 2020, Tamil Nadu aims to reduce the long-term fiscal burden on the government through increased private sector involvement in delivery of affordable housing . Tamil Nadu Shelter fund seeks to create social and economic impact for beneficiaries of housing projects as well as for housing markets. It plans to do so by increasing access to affordable housing through the financing of mixed-income and mix-use developments where middle-income units cross-subsidize low-income units, thereby  creating a new asset class that does not exist yet as a market in TN.
