The UNEP-hosted Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) and Cool Coalition are proud to present the Buildings and Cooling Pavilion at the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Pavilion will be the home of sustainable buildings and cooling at COP29 and will bring together global leaders, policymakers and experts from around the world to share insights and innovative solutions to reduce emissions, enhance resilience, ultimately delivering a sustainable built environment.

Key Themes
The Pavilion will host events, pitches, meetings and networking sessions from 14 to 21 November. With over 40 sessions covering topics like Energy Efficiency, Circularity and Innovation, Climate Finance, Climate Action Roadmaps, Passive Sustainable Cooling, Nature-Based Solutions, and more...The Pavilion will foster dialogue on critical issues and innovative solutions, with the goal of inspiring collaborative action and driving meaningful progress. Each day’s sessions are organized around core themes such as:

GlobalABC to Participate in the Inaugural Ministerial Launch of the Intergovernmental Council for Buildings and Climate (ICBC)
We are thrilled to announce that GlobalABC is co-organising with UN-Habitat and the COP29 Presidency the High-Level Roundtable on Green Construction and Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Climate Resilience in Cities taking place on the third Ministerial Meeting on Urbanization and Climate Change on Wednesday 20th of November. The Ministerial Meeting will launch the Intergovernmental Council for Buildings and Climate (ICBC). This event will bring together ministers, mayors, and representatives from non-party stakeholders, including ministers from France, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Ghana, Kenya, and others. Together, they will explore how to transform ambition into actionable solutions within the buildings sector.
Join us as we highlight innovative solutions that drive economic growth, create jobs, reduce energy costs, and empower communities, all while reinforcing the ICBC's role as a key platform for international cooperation in sustainable building practices.
