GlobalABC Welcomes 16 New Members, Strengthening Global Momentum for Zero-Emission Buildings

 

The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) is proud to welcome 16 new members, including 2 new countries— Luxembourg and New Zealand— marking a significant step forward in the global movement for a zero-emission and resilient built environment. This brings our total number of members to 382 including 71 countries.

National governments of Finland, Luxembourg and New Zealand joined the Intergovernmental Council for Buildings and Climate (ICBC) as signatories of the Chaillot Declaration.

Representing national governments, academia, civil society, and the private sector, these new members bring regional diversity and sectoral expertise, accelerating climate action in buildings and construction worldwide.

National Government

  • Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) (Kosovo) An independent, autonomous legal entity established by the Republic of Kosovo, KEEF promotes energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings and facilities. It supports the reduction of energy consumption while advancing environmentally friendly practices.

     

Academia, Research & Think Tanks

  • Energy Transitions Commission (ETC) (UK) ETC develops net-zero roadmaps with actionable recommendations to guide the global transition to clean energy. It engages policymakers, financiers, and industries to deploy low- and zero-carbon solutions at scale.
     
  • Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD) (Qatar) Based in Qatar Science and Technology Park, GORD is a recognized RDI leader advancing sustainability across sectors in line with the UN SDGs and Qatar National Vision 2030. It is a signatory to the UNFCCC and UNEP and manages the AEE Qatar Chapter.
     
  • Sustainable Finance Observatory (France) Formerly known as 2° Investing Initiative, the Observatory is a globally respected think tank focused on mobilizing private finance for the sustainability transition. It supports financial actors with tools and research to shift capital flows toward a resilient, low-carbon future.

     

Civil Society Organizations (NGOs)

  • American Wood Council (AWC) (USA) AWC represents an industry employing over 450,000 people in the U.S. and leads in engineering standards, data, and education for sustainable wood products. It champions policies supporting the safe, efficient use of wood in resilient and low-carbon buildings.
     
  • La Fresque de la Construction (Construction Collage) (France) This educational nonprofit runs participatory workshops to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of construction and identify solutions for a more sustainable built environment.
     
  • Pilot Projects Collaborative (Canada) A systems thinking and design partnership, Pilot Projects co-creates sustainable solutions at the intersection of urban and natural environments. Their work includes buildings, public spaces, supply chains, and “communities of practice.”
     
  • Sustainable Energy Finance Association (SEFA) (Belgium) A Brussels-based nonprofit founded in 2021, SEFA accelerates Europe’s transition to net-zero through the development and financing of sustainable energy across the built environment.

     

Private Sector (Non-Finance)

  • ADAPTIVA (Costa Rica) Rooted in regenerative design, ADAPTIVA creates projects that go beyond sustainability to restore ecosystems. Their work blends beauty, functionality, and ecological intelligence to improve quality of life and planetary health.
     
  • Adaptable Structures (New Zealand) Adaptable Structures is revolutionizing construction with its modular "Anyplace IP" system, enabling livable spaces to be built in a single day while championing decarbonization and open architecture.
     
  • BEAM CUBE (France) BEAM CUBE reimagines project management for buildings, cities, and infrastructure with an inclusive approach powered by collaborative, cybersecure cloud tools. It facilitates stakeholder integration across the entire lifecycle of built environments.
     
  • bluu unit (Germany) A network of HVAC-R specialists, bluu unit focuses on sustainable systems using natural refrigerants, energy efficiency, and short supply chains. It offers consulting, planning, installation, and maintenance with a goal of decarbonizing building cooling and heating.
     
  • Enerdata (France) An independent research firm since 1991, Enerdata provides energy and climate data, forecasts, and intelligence for global public and private stakeholders. It helps shape policy, business strategy, and transition planning using proprietary models and databases.
     
  • Taisei Corporation (Japan) With a legacy dating back to 1873, Taisei has been central to Japan’s modernization, post-war reconstruction, and sustainable infrastructure growth. It continues to shape communities through safe, secure, and innovative construction practices.

     

As GlobalABC’s network grows, these new members bring fresh energy, technical innovation, and regional leadership, deepening the collective effort to make zero-emission and resilient buildings the new normal by 2030.
