MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES

The Architects’ Council of Europe is composed of 43 Member Organizations which are the national regulatory and professional representative bodies in the EU Member States, the accession countries, Switzerland and Norway. Through its members, the ACE represents the interests of over 545,000 architects from 31 countries in Europe. Its main missions and objectives are: Promoting architecture in Europe; advancing architectural quality in the built environment; supporting sustainable development of the built environment; ensuring high standards of qualification for architects; advocating quality in architectural practice; fostering cross-border cooperation and facilitating European practice; acting as the single voice for architects in Europe. ACE strongly believes that a responsible architecture can bring solutions to challenges posed by climate change. Architects, across their different fields of intervention (building design, renovation, urban planning, etc.) and throughout the life cycle of buildings, with user involvement, can contribute to reducing energy and resource consumption in buildings as well as adapt the built environment to climate change effects. We are convinced that innovative solutions can only emerge if all stakeholders of the construction sector share knowledge and act together, through platforms like the Global ABC.
