The 23rd edition of The Energy and Resources Institute(TERI)’s annual flagship event, World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS), is scheduled to be held from 7th – 9th February 2024, under the umbrella theme: Leadership for Sustainable Development and Climate Justice.
The Summit, formerly known as Delhi Sustainable Development Summit was instituted in 2001 with the primary aim to make sustainable development a globally shared goal. The Summit series has established itself as a responsible and an effective platform for mobilizing opinion-makers to drive ambition and advance pioneering actions to address some of the most relevant issues concerning sustainable development and climate change. Over the years, the Summit series has brought together 56 Heads of State and Government, 13 Nobel laureates, 126 Ministers, 1932 business leaders, 3023 speakers and 39483 delegates from across the world.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is a research institute in New Delhi that specializes in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. Established in 1974, it was formerly known as the Tata Energy Research Institute. As the scope of its activities widened, it was renamed The Energy and Resources Institute in 2003. In 2024, TERI will be celebrating 50 years of its institution, and the Summit is an integral part of this journey. Since its inception the Summit series has strived to make sustainable development a globally shared goal.
