[Call for applications] 2022 Transformative Action Award
f

Autumn is upon us, and a busy season of events, conferences, and awards awaits! Don’t miss your chance to win €10,000 and be recognised as a leader of sustainable urban transformation in Europe by applying for the 2022 edition of the Transformative Action Award, of which ICLEI is an organising partner.

In addition to showcasing transformative actions that advance the creation of sustainable and resilient cities, the 2022 Transformative Action Award will reward actions that forward the local implementation of the European Green Deal.

The actions taken will also reflect local or regional contributions towards implementing international goals and commitments, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.

The award is open to any local or regional authority, or civil society organisation located in an EU Member State, EEA country, or EU candidate or accession country that has endorsed the Mannheim Message - Mayors’ call to centre local responses to the European Green Deal. In honour of the European Year of Youth, applicants with a focus on youth or with youth as organisers are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Transformative Action Award jury is searching for actions that focus on biodiversity, sustainable food systems, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, sustainable industry, building and renovation, sustainable mobility, pollution control, climate action and/or just transformations.

The winner will join La Titaranya SCCL, ICLEI Member Katowice (Poland), Lousada (Portugal), ICLEI Member Ghent (Belgium), and Nilüfer (Turkey) as respected leaders of sustainable urban transformation in Europe.

For more information about the award and how to apply, visit the Sustainable Cities Platform.

The deadline for applications is 14 October 2022.

The Transformative Action Award is organised by ICLEI Europe and the City of Aalborg (Denmark), with support from the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
