COP31 Pavilion

Since 2021, the GlobalABC has hosted the Buildings Pavilion at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP), providing a dedicated platform for the global buildings and construction community to convene, exchange knowledge, and accelerate climate action. At COP31, the GlobalABC and the Cool Coalition will once again co-host a COP Pavilion, bringing together key stakeholders to showcase solutions, foster collaboration, and drive progress towards a more sustainable and resilient built environment.

The Pavilion will highlight the critical role of buildings and cooling in delivering climate goals by:

  • Bringing together policymakers, businesses, practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders from across the buildings and construction value chain;
  • Showcasing innovative solutions, best practices, and scalable pathways through a diverse programme of events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities; and
  • Strengthening collaboration and accelerating action on decarbonization, resilience, sustainable cooling, adaptation, and the transformation of the built environment.

COP31 Pavilion: Call for Session Proposals Now Open

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Pavilion at COP31 that will bring together partners with a shared focus on practical solutions and implementation.

The Call for Session Proposals is now open and will close on 21 September COB EST.

Given the expected level of interest and limited programme space, we strongly encourage members planning to submit a proposal to begin coordinating now. Joint proposals developed across organisations, sectors, geographies or GlobalABC partners are likely to be particularly strong and to offer greater value to the overall programme. We look forward to welcoming a strong representation from the community in Antalya, and to showcasing the most compelling work, partnerships and solutions.

COP31 Webinar Series 

To ensure Pavilion sponsors, members, and key partners remain aligned and actively involved in shaping this high-profile platform, GlobalABC and the Cool Coalition are organizing a series of focused webinars. Webinar 4 - Empowering women to boost climate action in buildings: a pitch session | 24 September, 17:00-18:15 CEST 

On the run-up to COP31, this webinar will make one pitch: without women, the world cannot reach globally adopted climate targets for the buildings sector such as the reduction of 25% in building energy intensity. Gender inclusion frontrunners in the sector will pitch their work on initiatives that show: for each building sector challenge, there is an implementable gender solution. Participants will have the chance to ask questions and exchange on how those solutions could be useful in their contexts.

Buildings and cooling are at the heart of the global climate implementation challenge, influencing energy demand, emissions, resilience, affordability and quality of life. This webinar will bring together representatives from  COP30, COP31 and COP32 Presidencies to explore priorities, lessons learned and opportunities for stronger collaboration across successive COP cycles. The session will highlight pathways to accelerate decarbonised and resilient buildings and sustainable cooling solutions, as well as partnerships needed to turn climate commitments into implementation.
