Session Description

This session supports COP30’s Action Agenda Axis IV – Building Resilience for Cities, Infrastructure, and Water – by fostering understanding of sustainable and resilient construction practices. It also contributes to Axis V – Fostering Human and Social Development – through education and capacity-building for climate action.
Developed by the NGO La Fresque de la Construction, using data from GlobalABC and IPCC reports, the session invites public and private stakeholders, students, and professionals to experience collective intelligence as a key enabler of systemic change in the construction industry.

The Construction Collage is an interactive learning game that raises awareness of the construction sector’s role in breaching planetary boundaries. Through short, collaborative challenges, participants identify the main environmental impacts of buildings and infrastructure (climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and resource depletion). Participants then explore low-carbon, circular, and nature-based solutions and reflect on the skills required for a just transition in the built environment.
