Accelerating the Built Environment Market Transformation
| 11:30-13:00 Azerbaijan Time (UTC +4)

Description

The Market Transformation Action Agenda (MTAA) for the Built Environment was launched in March 2024 during the Buildings and Climate Global Forum in Paris as a collective roadmap towards halving emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050. Endorsed by over 84 companies and organisations, it identifies the key barriers along the value chain preventing us from delivering decarbonization at scale, and it outlines 11 system interventions to drive the transformation through radical collaboration of all stakeholders. The MTAA aligns with and supports the Buildings Breakthrough priority actions.

This session will showcase action and progress on market transformation since the launch of this agenda. Speakers will highlight the need and importance of strategic collaboration, and they will present actions that are taking place across the 3 levers and 11 interventions that reinforce each other for the whole system to shift. All participants will then be invited to discuss the implications for their work, provide their views on progress and remaining needs, and give suggestions on what should happen next.
