Breakthrough Agenda Report 2024 Launch Event
| 11:00—12:00 CET

The Breakthrough Agenda Report 2024 will be launched on Friday 27 September 2024 at 11:00—12:00 CET!

This report assesses the impact of international collaboration in accelerating the transition to clean technologies and sustainable solutions in key high-emitting sectors. It was prepared by the International Energy Agency in collaboration with the United Nations Climate Change High-Level Champions. The report is designed to track and support progress towards that aim ahead of the 15th Clean Energy Ministerial and the 9th Ministerial Meeting on Mission Innovation in Brazil, and the COP 29 Climate Change Conference in Baku in November 2024. It also outlines actions needed to deliver on the Breakthrough Agenda.

This year’s report includes the second edition of the Buildings Chapter, developed in collaboration with the GlobalABC. The chapter highlights progress in the built environment and calls on governments to strengthen collaboration, in five priority areas: standards & certification, demand creation,  finance & investment, research & deployment, capacity & skills– to accelerate decarbonisation and enhance resilience in buildings.

The webinar will present the key findings and recommendations of the various sectors, followed by a Q&A session with the authors. Register here!

Additionally, an in-person launch event will take place at CEM-MI in Brazil:

  • 2 October 2024, 14:00 BRT. Please come along to the event if you are at CEM-MI.
  • Event title: CEM-MI to COP: Accelerating Sector Transitions through Stronger International Collaboration - Breakthrough Agenda Report Launch.
