Building and energy codes have been identified as key strategies to address climate adaptation and mitigation needs. The Buildings Breakthrough and Declaration de Chaillot focus on codes as essential tools. Codes also serve as an implementation platform for many of the priorities being discussed within GlobalABC. Effective development and deployment of codes - such as research about the use of energy and resilience codes, financing for code development and implementation, and creating online tools to provide a resource of sample codes and practices - requires collaboration and coordination across multiple stakeholders and several GlobalABC participants are working in this space. This meet up is intended to bring together representatives working on advancing code development and deployment from research and financing to technical development, enforcement and capacity building. Participants can briefly present their current initiatives and interests and then network with other participants in the spirit of collaboration and coordination.
