Session Description

This session will explore emerging research priorities needed to advance sustainable, low-carbon, and resilient buildings worldwide. It will focus on innovation in materials and systems, the role of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) within the built environment, and opportunities for durable carbon storage through design and urban systems.

Through short presentations, interactive polling, and open discussion, participants will identify key barriers to research–policy collaboration and reflect on how global research networks can strengthen knowledge exchange and implementation. The session aims to distil common themes and next steps for building a coordinated international research agenda on sustainable construction.
