Session Description

This session will spotlight the vast range of market-ready, economically viable, and scalable solutions that already exist to decarbonise the buildings sector — and the enabling environments and public policies that can accelerate their deployment. Building on the work of the Buildings Breakthrough Deployment group (Priority Action B4), the event will feature the launch of two products: the Catalogue of Solutions, a COP30 deliverable led by the Solar Impulse Foundation in collaboration with GlobalABC and country partners, and a policy brief from the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC), produced with support from the GlobalABC, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Climate Policy Center, and the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Center (UNEP CCC). The Catalogue brings together real-world case studies from across regions and climate zones, showing how both high- and low-tech solutions are being implemented successfully — and how policy and finance must now modernise to match this readiness.  The TEC policy brief highlights concrete entry points for governments and financial institutions to accelerate uptake of established climate technologies. By shifting the conversation from "what is possible" to "what is already happening", the session aims to energise implementation efforts, encourage replication, and make the case for aligning policy, procurement, and investment tools with what’s ready to scale.
