Session description:
The session will explore how the real estate sector, valued at USD 111 trillion across 34 OECD countries, can strengthen its resilience to climate-related physical and transition risks through governance, data and finance. The OECD will present key findings and recommendations emerging from its upcoming report on Future-proofing Real Estate Investment: Place-based Risks, which draws on expert group meetings and a survey of 43 institutions. In line with COP Presidential Axis IV on Building Resilience for Cities, Infrastructure and Water, the session contributes directly to objectives (11) multilevel governance and (12) sustainable and resilient constructions and buildings. It is designed for policymakers, investors, insurers, and international organisations engaged in climate finance and urban resilience.
