Session Description

This session  will explore how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure and reduce climate-related risks across regions. The discussion will highlight perspectives from developing countries on the needs and opportunities for integrating NbS into infrastructure planning, as well as from multilateral development banks on financing challenges and enabling policy environments. The Italian government and UNEP will present solutions and support mechanisms designed to bridge implementation and investment gaps through the new Nature-based Solutions Infrastructure Accelerator (NBS-IA). The event aims to accelerate global momentum toward resilient, low-carbon, and nature-positive infrastructure systems, aligning with the COP30 Presidency’s agenda on resilience, adaptation, and finance for just transitions.
