Pittsburgh, United States

cem

The Global Clean Energy Action Forum: Call to Clean Energy Action Plenary will take place on 22 September 2022, 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM EDT.

At COP26 in Glasgow, the world launched the Breakthrough Agenda to strengthen international climate action and dramatically scale and speed up the deployment of clean energy technologies and drive down costs. Under the UK leadership, IRENA alongside the IEA and UN HLCH drafted the Breakthrough Agenda Report 2022 covering the power, steel, transport and agriculture sectors and hydrogen. This closed-door session will bring together leading voices across the global energy community to reflect on remaining gaps and opportunities for global energy cooperation, including through the CEM and MI, to inspire policymakers, businesses, innovators and the entire energy community.

Speakers include:

  • Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Kingdom of Morocco
  • Nigel Topping, UK Climate Change High-Level Champion
  • Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director, International Energy Agency (IEA)
  • Francesco La Camera, Director-General, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

This plenary session is open to Ministers and Special Guests.
