The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) will gather leaders, innovators, experts, and young changemakers on 9 and 10 April 2026 at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria.

Convening ahead of major global milestones, the Forum will ignite global momentum for just and inclusive energy and climate transitions, with green industrialization as a key driver of sustainable economic transformation.

Under the motto “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability”, the Forum will explore practical solutions that are inclusive, gender-responsive, and socially just. Special attention will be given to least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states. The discussions and outcomes will inform the United Nations development agenda and provide timely inputs to the global climate process, helping to accelerate progress toward the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Guided by a strong focus on implementation, the Forum  will team up with the Global Green Industrialization Dialogue to showcase how green industrial transformation - anchored in resilient supply chains, renewable energy, resource efficiency, and equitable access to technologies and benefits - can serve as a cornerstone for global and local security, stability, and shared prosperity, particularly for those most in need. The event will also lay the foundations for a new global governance and monitoring framework, connecting ambition on green industrialization with measurable targets.

The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum is co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, the Austrian Development Agency and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA).

Registration will be launched in early 2026.
