The Market Transformation Action Agenda (MTAA) was launched during the Buildings and Climate Global Forum in March 2024. It outlines 11 systemic interventions that provide a consistent action-oriented narrative for how carbon performance can be incentivized all along the value chain, which is a necessary condition for the market to truly change and decarbonize. MTAA supports the Buildings Breakthrough priority actions by helping align the efforts by governments and business. Following the launch, WBCSD has been working with its members and partners to implement the strategic interventions and to monitor progress and coordination. A first progress report was issued ahead of COP29 and can be found here. This session will provide an opportunity to GlobalABC members to familiarize themselves with the Market Transformation approach and strategic goal of connecting private sector led actions along the value chain with the Buildings Breakthrough and other initiatives, to hear about WBCSD’s and other partners’ priorities for the year, and to provide input and identify potential new areas for collaboration not covered by the existing partners.
