Session Description: Despite the fact that the heating of spaces and hot water makes up a significant portion of global greenhouse gas emissions associated with energy use and that for many regions, particularly in the global north, heating may create similar quantities of GHG emissions to transport, progress on this sector remains slow. This event, led by the Clean Heat Forum, a Global ABC hub, brings together multinational companies, policy makers and NGOs asking the question: what policies or pledges are needed next for cleaning up heating.
The event will consist of a presentation from Richard Lowes of the Clean Heat Forum and a new heat pump policy toolkit. Following this, the panel will each be given the opportunity to make their case on what policies or pledges are needed and there will then be a Q and A with the panel.
