Session Description:
The Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition (ALCBT) project aimed at nationwide transition towards low carbon buildings in Asian countries, substantially reducing GHG emissions from the sector. ALCBT addresses regulatory, capacity and financing gaps that prevent large scale adoption of low carbon buildings by (1) enhancing the government’s institutional capacity; (2) improving the technical capacity of industry and service professionals to deliver LCB through trainings and tools; (3) leveraging financing for efficient cooling and LCB through common metrics and innovative business models; and (4) creation of market demand for LCB and replication of project tools and approach through systematic sharing of lessons between project countries and globally.
