Join the ABC21 for a webinar on "Bioclimatic design and thermal comfort performance of buildings: Case studies from Europe, Africa and La Reunion" on 31 March 2023, 13:30 CET.
At this event, prof. François Garde and researcher Virginie Grosdemouge from the University of La Reunion will present the work done concerning the documentation of thermal indicators buildings in Africa, Europe and La Reunion. The focus is the presentation of selected case studies, located in different climates in terms of bioclimatic design and thermal comfort performance in warm periods. Key lessons and ways of improving thermal comfort will also be developed. There is little record or literature concerning bioclimatic buildings and experimental feedback in warm climate zones. One of the main goals of the ABC 21 project is to cover this information gap – collecting data about operating buildings that are good examples of sustainable solutions and should be replicated at a wider scale.
In this specific webinar, a set of bioclimatic buildings will be presented in terms of passive solutions and thermal comfort performance for different climates in mainland Africa, the Indian Ocean and South Europe. Lessons learned and ways of improving thermal comfort will also be developed in this webinar.
