Webinar on India Net Zero challenge

At the COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, India’s Honourable Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi pledged to cut India’s emissions to net zero by 2070. Since then, India Inc.’s biggest names have declared their own net-zero targets; especially with 92 Indian companies committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI), India Inc. is readyto take advantage of the National Carbon Market to combat climate change. Internal Carbon Pricing is critical for the nation as it opens pathways for Target setting using science-based methodologies, all of it contributing to India's Net Zero ambition. Hence, greenfinancing becomes an integral part of decarbonizing the economy. This makes it essential for the country's policy makers, banks and FIs to collaborate and create a framework that eliminate the challenges.

In this context, the objectives of the webinar, taking place on 30 September 2022, 12:30-13:30 CEST, are to assess the road ahead for the country, and how corporates can support the nation’s climate targets.
