World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA)’s Buildings Benchmark 2023 assesses 50 keystone buildings companies that have a significant influence on achieving the Paris Agreement goals and the SDGs. The benchmark includes the following subsectors of the building system: property development, construction, and property management. To that end, some of the 50 benchmarked companies have activities within more that one of the building system subsectors. This benchmark is the second of WBA’s Climate and Energy Benchmark series, after the 2022 Transport Benchmark, that combines the ACT assessment and the just transition and social assessment to provide an overall score and ranking. By considering social and decarbonisation issues together, the benchmark can mobilise stronger action needed to hold companies accountable on contributing towards a low-carbon transition that leaves no one behind.
This event brings together key stakeholders, to leverage all our research, learnings and networks to collectively call on property developers and construction companies to commit to deliver efficient low-carbon and zero-carbon-ready buildings and for property managers to convert existing buildings to zero-carbon-ready through deep renovations and retrofits as a matter of urgency.
