Today, nearly 3 billion people live in inadequate housing conditions, with over 1.1 billion in informal settlements and more than 300 million experiencing homelessness. These challenges are being amplified by climate change, conflict and growing inequality.
The theme of WUF13 “Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities” will shine a global spotlight on the urgent need to address the global housing crisis and position housing as a driver of inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban development.
WUF13 will examine the global housing crisis and how housing can build more inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities. WUF13 offers a unique platform to share practical solutions, shape global policy, and accelerate investment to ensure adequate housing for all – laying the foundation for greener, safer, and more inclusive cities.
From government leaders and business innovators to urban planners, real estate developers, and students eager to learn – WUF13 is for everyone.
