MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES
The Ministry is responsible for agricultural policy, forestry policy, hunting, fishing, laws relating to wine and water, as well as for environmental and animal protection. Regarding sustainable energy and buildings, the Ministry focuses, among others, on the energy transition in Austria, helping households, municipalities and enterprise to reduce their CO2 emissions. Jointly with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, the Ministry has developed the Austrian Green Building Star for sustainable, energy-efficient buildings constructed globally with Austrian participation.
