MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution that promotes sustainable market economies and private sector development across its countries of operation. Its core activities include financing infrastructure, energy, industry, transport, financial institutions, and municipal development projects, while also providing policy advice, technical assistance, and legal and regulatory reform support. The EBRD's expertise spans green finance, climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, urban development, and resilience, with a strong focus on accelerating the transition to low-carbon, competitive, and climate-resilient economies.

ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS

The EBRD actively supports the decarbonisation of the buildings sector by financing energy-efficient building renovations, promoting low-carbon construction technologies, and strengthening the legal and regulatory frameworks needed to improve building energy performance. Through initiatives such as energy-efficiency credit lines and policy reforms, the Bank supports measures including building insulation, high-performance windows, heat pumps, solar thermal systems, and other efficient heating solutions.
