MAIN GOALS - GENERAL ACTIVITIES - FIELD OF EXPERTISES
With 57 years of establishment and development, the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has become a leading center in terms of training, scientific research and technology transfer in Vietnam. HUCE has implemented the undergraduate and postgraduate education and training for various fields in the construction sector (i.e. Architecture and Planning; Construction Economics and Management; Industrial and Building Engineering; Construction Materials; Environmental Science and Engineering). HUCE has so far provided high-quality human resources for the country across the broad spectrum of civil engineering with over 80,000 engineers and architects for the country's industrialization and modernization. Apart from excellence in training, HUCE is also a powerhouse in research and technology transfer, with a wide range of applications to the building industry.
ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS
During the recent years, HUCE has implemented a number of projects in climate actions in the buildings and construction sector. For examples:
- HUCE members co-worked in the national expert team led by Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment in developing the “National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050” (approved by the Decision No. 1658/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister) and the “National Action Plan on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 period” (approved by the Decision No. 882/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister) in which we were mainly responsible for the work of the construction sector and proposing the solutions and activities for greening the construction sector, including those related to the development of net-zero carbon building, low-carbon building, green building, energy efficient building, and climate resilient building.
- HUCE members worked as the national experts for Vietnam Ministry of Construction in many projects in the field of building energy efficiency.
- We have collaborated with Korean partners to implement a 4-year R&D project “Technology demonstration and commercialization of low cost/high efficient building energy package considering climate/economic conditions in Vietnam”. This project has established a Living Lab for studying and testing energy efficient technologies for buildings in Vietnam as well as implementing training activities in the field of energy efficient building.
