SUMe (Sustentabilidad para México A.C.) is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing sustainable building and construction practices in Mexico. Its mission is to strengthen the sustainable building market by working with the public and private sectors, civil society, and international organizations to build capacity, share best practices, and support the development of public policies. As the established council for the World Green Building Council in Mexico, SUMe promotes internationally recognized green building certification systems, including LEED, EDGE, WELL, SITES, TRUE, GRESB, and MINERGIE. Its activities include professional training, webinars, workshops, conferences, technical consulting, networking, and collaboration with government and industry to foster sustainable development in the built environment.
ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS
SUMe actively promotes the decarbonization of the built environment by supporting the design, construction, and operation of low-carbon, energy-efficient, and resilient buildings. Through educational programmes, technical guidance, industry forums, and collaborative projects, the organization advances energy efficiency, building performance, green finance, circular economy principles, and climate resilience. SUMe also works with public and private partners to develop roadmaps and action plans for net-zero buildings, encourage the adoption of sustainable building standards and certifications, and disseminate best practices that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, improve resource efficiency, and enhance the resilience of buildings and communities to climate change.
