The University of Buea is a public higher education institution committed to delivering quality education, advancing research, and serving community development through an English-speaking academic tradition within Cameroon’s bilingual and multicultural context. Its main goals include promoting academic excellence, innovation, and problem-solving while responding to socio-economic and market needs through teaching, research, and professional training. The university’s general activities include undergraduate and postgraduate education, scientific research, international collaboration, skills development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement across a broad range of disciplines, including science, engineering, health, agriculture, environmental studies, and social sciences. Its fields of expertise span education and training, environmental and natural resource management, health sciences, biodiversity, engineering and technology, as well as research addressing societal and developmental challenges. 

ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS

The University of Buea contributes to activities related to low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy efficiency, and resilient buildings primarily through its research, teaching, and technical training in environmental sciences, engineering, and sustainable resource management. Through faculties such as science, engineering, agriculture, and technology, the university supports research on environmental hazards, biodiversity, natural resource management, and sustainable development issues relevant to climate resilience and low-carbon transitions. Its expertise can contribute to the development of energy-efficient infrastructure, climate adaptation strategies, and sustainable building practices, particularly in contexts vulnerable to environmental and climatic challenges. Additionally, the university’s emphasis on innovation and problem-solving supports knowledge generation and capacity-building relevant to resilient and low-energy built environments.
