UNU-FLORES develops strategies to resolve pressing issues in the sustainable use and integrated management of environmental resources such as water, soil, waste, energy, and other geo-resources that are of concern to the United Nations and its Member States – particularly in developing and emerging economies. Based in Dresden, Germany, the Institute engages in research, capacity development, postgraduate teaching, advanced training, and knowledge dissemination to advance the Resource Nexus.
ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS
Starting in 2023: Member of LAB, Living Art of Building, a collaborative initiative aimed at implementing the largest paradigm shift in the construction industry to date: to transform all construction and the use of the built environment into a climate- and resource-neutral, durable, variable, aesthetic, and value-creating construction method. It encompasses a “House from Waste”, among other innovative components, as part of its commitment to sustainable practices and driving change within the construction industry.
