In the G7 Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers' Communiqué, the GlobalABC is recognised as "a critical international forum to advance the sector’s transition towards climate neutrality globally and engage with national governments". The communiqué also recognises "the need for more ambitious and more effective policies to accelerate renovation rates, improve energy efficiency, leverage renewable energy and build the technical, institutional and financial capacity to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050".
In addition, the G7 Berlin Roadmap on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy (2022-2025) was adopted to guide the future work of the G7 Alliance of on Resource Efficiency. In the Berlin Roadmap, the sector of buildings and construction is at the top of the list of high-impact value chains that the G7 will focus on in particular.
