JLL is committed to educating and influencing clients and suppliers to mainstream net zero carbon, influence policymakers and decisions, and drive action through industry engagement. We provide internally and externally developed sustainability training for our employees focusing on areas such as climate risk, green building and health and wellbeing certifications, and energy management. JLL engages actively with many industry associations, other membership associations, and national or international advocacy organizations that share our commitment to shaping sustainable real estate.
Through our program, we can support the ambitions and thematic activities of Global ABC through over 70 websites, proprietary research, thought leadership content, events and global network, as well as engage our stakeholders and partners in relevant initiatives.
ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS
As stated, JLL is working to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, encompassing our entire Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory. This commits JLL to reduce absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 51% by 2030, and 95% by 2040, from a 2018 base year. We will achieve our commitment by eliminating carbon emissions across all areas of our operations. Our net-zero trajectory will require all our clients to be on a decarbonization journey and we are partnering with our top 50 clients to achieve this goal. JLL has committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions from the operation of our leased offices by 2030. We will achieve this by improving energy efficiency in the buildings we already occupy and by renting offices that meet high-energy efficiency standards and enhancing further with our fit-out specifications.
