ACTIVITY RELATED TO LOW GHG AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND RESILIENT BUILDINGS
• PCAF initiative “Financing towards net zero”
• Leading consultant for EU Commission on EPBD (see e.g. leading reports on (nearly) zero energy buildings, partially under our former names Ecofys or Navigant: Towards nearly zero-energy buildings; Comprehensive study of building energy renovation activities and the uptake of nearly zero-energy buildings in the EU, EU Commission Impact Assessment of the EPBD (Guidehouse led the TA for developing the Commission’s proposal, elaborating on about 500 pages reports across MEPS, EPC, ZEB, deep renovation, etc, also performing all the scenario work leading to 2050: see 50 references to that Guidehouse work in SWD(2021) 453 final), we also led the (unpublished) work behind the latest update of the cost-optimality delegated regulation, including an in-depth assessment of useful boundaries / definitions for ZEB.
• We also lead the EU Building Stock Observatory for the EU Commission.
• We have been leading the work on the GlobaABC Regional Roadmap for Buildings and Construction in the Arab region.
• We are leading a large IKI project on sustainable cooling in the MENA region – CoolUP.
• We just finished another large IKI project led by us, BuildME - Accelerating 0-emission building sector ambitions in the MENA region.
