The Sustainable Construction Leaders (SCL) peer network, available through Building Green and based in North America, is a community with regional ties that shares best practices, advocates for, and inspires change in a way that is collaborative, non-competitive, trusting, positive, and results-oriented.  It aims to leverage the construction industry to combat climate change and create healthy environments.

In recent years, awareness of the negative impacts of plastic waste and pollution on our environment has heightened. Popular television documentaries, such as the BBC’s Blue Planet II, and mainstream media campaigns have played a significant role in bringing these issues to the forefront of the public’s consciousness.

The focus of this has largely been on single-use plastics from consumer products and packaging. There has been relatively little attention on the use of plastics in construction, both from a short and long-life perspective.

SteelZero is a global initiative that brings together leading organisations to speed up the transition to a net zero steel industry.

Steel is the world’s most widely used material – but despite technologies existing for production to be decarbonised, steelmaking is currently one of the biggest emitters of CO₂ globally. 

The Saudi Green Building Council is part of SGBF, a professional civil society establishment and Non Government Organization in Special Consultative Status with Economic and Social Council at United Nations. SGBF is accredited by UNDGC, UNEP, & UNFCCC.
