Hosted by the government of Malaysia in the city of Johor Bahru, Asia-Pacific Climate Week (APCW) 2023 will take place on 13-17 November 2023.
2023 Regional Climate Weeks
Four Regional Climate Weeks will be held this year to build momentum ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference COP28 in Dubai and the conclusion of the first Global Stocktake, designed to chart the way for fulfilling the Paris Agreement's key goals.
The following Regional Climate Weeks are confirmed for 2023:
- Africa Climate Week (ACW 2023), Nairobi, 4-8 September. Hosted by the government of Kenya, this event will be organised in parallel with the African Climate Summit (4-6 September), also hosted by Kenya.
- Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW 2023), Riyadh, 8-12 October, and hosted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW 2023), Panama City, 23-27 October, hosted by the government of Panama, this event will be organised in parallel with the XXIII Meeting of the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean (24 - 26 October 2023).
- Asia-Pacific Climate Week (APCW 2023), Johor, 13-17 November 2023, hosted by the government of Malaysia.
The Weeks consider four major systems-based tracks with a view to providing region-focused contributions to inform the global stocktake:
- Energy systems and industry
- Cities, urban and rural settlements, infrastructure and transport
- Land, ocean, food and water
- Societies, health, livelihoods, and economies
